Why help street animals?
Because every life has value, and by helping street animals, we connect with the essence of compassion. In caring for them, we not only heal their wounds but also our own hearts. Every act of kindness brings us closer to the harmony we all seek in the world.
As an animal lover, I’ve found in Morocco a place where there is a great need to help many street animals. Since I arrived here, I’ve been moved by the countless dogs and cats I see on the streets, and I simply can’t turn my back when one is in need. Throughout my life in Spain, I have always worked closely with animal shelters and helped many street dogs find their forever homes, and I continue to do so here in Morocco. That’s why a part of my earnings always goes towards helping animals.
Now that we have the stable, I finally have a place to welcome all the dogs and cats who arrive looking for food, love, or assistance. Some stay with us for a while, while others move on after a few days or weeks. The barn is a sanctuary for those who need it, and we try to do our best.
When you book a holiday with Essaouira Dreamers, you’re also contributing to the well-being of these animals, because part of your money goes for these actions. We’ve started a spaying and neutering program, and we’re working on it gradually, prioritizing female dogs and cats to help reduce the problem of unwanted puppies and kittens. We also vaccinate them against rabies as part of the procedure.
We always encourage our guests to bring some food for the animals, so we can feed even more strays in need. If you would like to help further, we’re also accepting donations.
